DC Council

The DC Council will not have a Legislative meeting this week


DC State Board of Education

The DC State Board of Education will have a public meeting this Wednesday at 5:30 pm.


 

Maryland


Maryland General Assembly:

The Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland Senate are in session.

Charles County



Board of Charles County Commissioners

The Board of Charles County Commissioners will hold a session tomorrow at 9 am. The meeting will include discussions on budget amendments and transfers, including moving funds to contingency projects and increasing the budget for specific programs like the Charles County Sheriff's Office. Additionally, there will be proposals to declare Charles County a "Stroke Smart County" in collaboration with the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center Stroke Team.



The meeting will also cover environmental protection efforts, federal earmark funding support, and changes to the 9-1-1 fee. There will also be public hearings on proposed bills related to ethics codes, zoning text amendments for critical areas and transit-oriented development zones, and an increase in the 9-1-1 fee.


Charles County Board of Education

The Charles County Board of Education will not hold a public meeting this week

Montgomery County


Montgomery County Council

The Montgomery County Council meets tomorrow at 9:15 am. The agenda includes a proclamation celebrating Women’s History Month, followed by general business announcements and approval of previous meeting minutes. The legislative session will feature the introduction of Bill 5-24 concerning the Child Investment Fund, and the call of Bills for Final Reading, including Bill 44-23 on Health Care Privacy. Additionally, there will be discussions on the Takoma Park Minor Master Plan, Executive Regulation 04-24 regarding Late-Night Business Safety, and the FY25-30 Capital Improvements Program focusing on conservation, recycling, health services, and public arts.


Montgomery County Board of Education

The Montgomery County Board of Education will hold a business meeting tomorrow at noon. Human resources and development issues will be addressed, including a monthly report and recommended appointments. The meeting will also feature recognitions for various events and groups, such as Celebrating the Arts Month and National Autism Awareness Month. Public comments will be heard, and consent items related to procurement contracts and contract approvals will be discussed. Additionally, there will be discussions and actions on English Language Arts curriculum adoption, addressing hate-bias, and spring facilities and boundaries decisions, among other important topics.

Prince George's County Council


The Prince George's County Council will meet tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Among the agenda items are the first reading of bills such as CB-023-2024, addressing labor and sex trafficking among county contractors and subcontractors, and CB-025-2024, proposing a reorganizational plan within the Office of Central Services. Additionally, there will be the introduction of resolutions like CR-015-2024, which concerns the supplementary appropriation of federal, state, and other funds for various county departments.


Prince George's County Board of Education


The Prince George's County Board of Education will meet tomorrow at 7:00 P.M. at the Sasscer Administration Building in Upper Marlboro, MD. The agenda includes discussions on the Culture and Climate Survey Report, the Implementation Plan for Transportation Audit Recommendations, and the Proclamation for Autism Acceptance Day and National Autism Awareness Month. Additionally, there will be considerations for new policies regarding Artificial Intelligence, Intellectual Property Rights, Search and Seizure, and Student Use of Social Media and Electronic Devices in Schools.

The Alexandria City Council will not hold a legislative meeting this week


Alexandria City Board of Education


The Alexandria City Board of Education is scheduled to meet Thursday at 6:30 PM. The agenda includes adopting the meeting agenda, approving the participation of board members via electronic means, and recognizing outstanding achievements through the ACPS Vision, Integrity, and Passion (VIP) Awards. Additionally, there will be discussions on financial reports, community use of facilities, the High School Project: Construction Update, superintendent evaluation procedures, policy adoption, and personnel actions. New business items will cover policy revisions and the 2024 VSBA Business Honor Roll.

Fairfax County Board of Supervisors
