It's a quiet week since several legislative bodies are on recess, but take a moment to explore the key legislative actions and stay ahead of the issues driving change in your county.

District of Columbia

DC Council
The DC Council will hold a legislative meeting this week at noon tomorrow. At the session, they will discuss the Green Housing Coordination Emergency Amendment Act of 2025 (B26-0374) and the Juvenile Curfew Second Emergency Amendment Act of 2025.
Introduced by Councilmember Robert White, the Green Housing measure aims to improve coordination among District agencies to promote sustainable housing development and accelerate environmentally responsible construction projects. The Juvenile Curfew measure, sponsored by Councilmember Brooke Pinto, extends and refines the city’s curfew policies for minors in response to ongoing public safety and youth welfare concerns. Both acts were passed on an emergency basis to allow immediate implementation while longer-term legislation proceeds through the standard review process.
Maryland

Maryland General Assembly
The Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland Senate have adjourned for the year, but will be back in session in January 2026
Board of Charles County Commissioners
The Charles County Board of County Commissioners will meet tomorrow at 9 am to review several approval items central to county governance and fiscal planning. These include budget amendments and transfers presented by the Department of Fiscal and Administrative Services, such as inter-category budget reallocations for the Charles County Board of Education and the Phoenix International School of the Arts (PISOTA) for Fiscal Year 2026. The Commissioners will also consider Change Order No. 7 for the St. Charles Well No. 16 project, managed by the Department of Public Works–Utilities. These items form part of the broader agenda addressing fiscal management, public works infrastructure, and administrative oversight.
Montgomery County Council
The Montgomery County Council will convene tomorrow at 9 am. During the meeting, the Council will introduce Bill 34-25, which proposes amendments to the county’s climate assessment process, with a public hearing slated for December 2. Final readings are scheduled for three key measures: Expedited Bill 23-25 establishing an Early Care and Education Coordinating Entity, Bill 11-25 refining child care coordination policies, and Bill 28-25 prohibiting parking in bikeways. Earlier in the day, the Council will also consider several special and supplemental appropriations totaling more than $19 million for education, health, and infrastructure programs.
Prince George's County Council
The Prince George's County Council will meet tomorrow at 10:30 and will focus on advancing its legislative priorities for the upcoming 2026 General Assembly. The Council will transmit its official state legislative agenda and vote on several bills and resolutions. Key measures include CB-067-2025, the Food as Medicine Health Program Act, establishing a health initiative integrating nutrition into care; CB-082-2025, concerning supplementary appropriations for unanticipated FY2025 expenses; and CB-090-2025, approving updates to a collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 112.
Resolutions up for final adoption include CR-086-2025 (Community Wealth Building Compact), CR-088-2025 (County Literacy Commission), CR-099-2025 (Black Maternal Health Accountability and Patient Bill of Rights), CR-108-2025 (FOP 112 compensation schedule), CR-111-2025 (Correctional Facilities Safety Task Force), CR-123-2025 and CR-127-2025 (Stop Sign Monitoring Systems), CR-126-2025 (Foster Care Task Force), CR-131-2025 (Sheriff’s law enforcement duties), and CR-136-2025 (Sustainable Communities designation for Bowie State University and MARC Station). The session will also feature a presentation on the Gun Violence Task Force’s final report.
Virginia

Virginia General Assembly
The Virginia House of Delegates and the Virginia Senate have adjourned for the 2024 session. They will return in January 2026.
Alexandria City Council
The Alexandria City Council is in recess and will not be in session this week.
Arlington County Board
The Arlington County Board is in recess and will not be in session this week.
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors is in recess and will not be in session this week.
