CLPA List of Upcoming DC Area Policy Meetings (April 3-April 7)

There is not much happening this week policy-wise around the DC Area as most legislative bodies are on recess. However, the DC Council is having a legislative meeting tomorrow where there will vote on a number of bills. Two bills of interest include the Use of Force Review Board Temporary Act of 2023 (Bill 25-156) and the Reverse Mortgage Insurance and Tax Payment Program Extension Temporary Amendment Act of 2023 (Bill 25-162). It should be noted that these are temporary bills. Temporary legislation does not go through the committee process but must still have a second reading, mayoral review, and go through the review period by the U.S. Congress. These bills are in effect for no more than 225 days,

Prince George's Council will also be in session and will review two bills, CB-049-2023-Supplementary Appropriations, which will increase the FY 2023 General Fund Budget from $4,226,635,200 to $4,282,128,800. CB-047-2023-Collective Bargaining Arbitration which would update the County's mandatory arbitration regulations to include the consideration of area standards when deadlocks arise during County and Union negotiations
