DC Council

The DC Council will not have a Legislative meeting this week.



DC State Board of Education

The DC State Board of Education will not have a public meeting this week.


 

Maryland




Maryland General Assembly:

The Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland Senate have adjourned for the year and will be back in session in January 2025.

Charles County




Board of Charles County Commissioners

the FY2025 budget and will cover both the General Fund Overview and the Governmental Capital Improvement Projects Overview. They also continue their discussion regarding request to establish February as African American Heritage Month instead of Black History Month in Charles County


Charles County Board of Education

The Charles County Board of Education will not have a public meeting this week

Montgomery County


Montgomery County Council

The Montgomery County Council will meet tomorrow at 12:45 pm. The Council will have public hearings on a Sectional Map Amendment and Bill 9-24 related to Group G Pension and Social Security Integration. There will also be worksessions on the FY25-30 Capital Improvements Program, a worksession/action on the FY25 Operating Budget including compensation and benefits, collective bargaining agreements.


Montgomery County Board of Education

The Montgomery County Board of Education will not have a public meeting this week.

Prince George's County



Prince George's County Council


The Prince George's County Council will meet tomorrow at 10 am. During the meeting the Council will discuss CB-037-2024, an Act concerning supplementary appropriations, which address costs not initially included in the Approved Fiscal Year 2024 Budget. They will discuss proposed letters addressed to the Couty's Congressional Representative and Senators about the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) relocation process to Greenbelt, Maryland.


Other bills and resolutions on the agenda include:

  1. CB-001-2024, focusing on Minority Business Start-Up Funds to support African American businesses through grant and loan programs, will have its second reading.

  2. CB-003-2024 addresses the establishment of mandatory lactation rooms in certain County buildings, highlighting the Council's efforts to promote workplace inclusivity and support for working parents.

  3. CB-004-2024, revising parental leave eligibility for County employees

  4. CB-017-2024, which proposes adjustments to the Board of Appeals Composition and Salary Revision, reflecting ongoing governance and administrative reforms.

  5. CR-014-2024, focusing on the establishment of The Central Avenue - Blue/Silver Line Corridor Development Review Advisory Council

  6. CR-018-2024, which amends the Prince George’s County Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Action Plan for Housing and Community Development.


Prince George's County Board of Education


The Prince George's County Board of Education will not hold a public meeting this week.

 

Virginia



Virginia General Assembly:

The Virginia House of Delegates and the Virginia Senate have adjourned for the 2024 session. They will be back in session in January 2025.

Alexandria City



Alexandria City Council:

The Alexandria City Council will hold a special budget meeting on Wednesday 6 pm. Along with the budget discussions the Council will also cover ordinances and resolutions aimed at finalizing tax rates, increasing late payment penalties on personal property taxes, revising ambulance service charges, amending stormwater utility fees, and adopting fee changes for various city departments.


Alexandria City Board of Education


The Alexandria City Board of Education is not scheduled to have a public meeting this

week.

Arlington County Board

The Arlington County Board will not hold a public meeting this week.

Arlington County School Board


The Arlington County School Board will not hold a public meeting this week.

Fairfax County




Fairfax County Board of Supervisors

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will hold a public meeting tomorrow at 9:30 am. During the meeting the Board will discuss the County's and Schools' FY 2024 Third Quarter Review, including Supplemental Appropriation Resolutions and Amendments to the Fiscal Planning Resolution, which will affect the FY 2025 Advertised Budget Plan markup. The board will also address the Fairfax County Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for Fiscal Years 2025-2029, aligning with discussions from previous budget committee meetings and Planning Commission motions.


Fairfax County School Board

Fairfax County School Board will not hold a public meeting this week.
