District of Columbia

DC Council
The DC Council will not hold a legislative meeting this week. The next legislative meeting will occur on July 8 at noon.
Maryland

Maryland General Assembly
The Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland Senate have adjourned for the year but will be back in session in January 2026
Board of Charles County Commissioners
The Charles County Board of County Commissioners will not be in session this week. They will reconvene on July 8 at 9 am.
Montgomery County Council
The Montgomery County Council will not convene this week. They will reconvene at a date after the July 4th break that has yet to be announced.
Prince George's County Council
The Prince George's County Council will hold a meeting on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. They will consider a wide range of legislation designed to address public health, zoning, housing, cannabis regulation, and industrial activity near residential areas. Among the key bills up for discussion is CB-063-2025, which will establish a Third-Party Inspection Program under the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement. This initiative aims to enhance oversight capacity by enabling approved third-party entities to conduct inspections, with clear liability guidelines and standardized practices.
Another notable item is CB-064-2025, aimed at improving the quality of life for nearby residents by limiting the operating hours of industrial businesses close to residential zones. The Council will also review CB-065-2025, which will align local cannabis zoning regulations with recent changes in State law. This bill will set new location standards and parking requirements for cannabis-related establishments. In support of affordable housing, CB-066-2025 will streamline zoning map amendment procedures for planned developments. Finally, CB-067-2025, known as the Food as Medicine Health Program Act, will propose using grant funding and public-private partnerships to address chronic illness and food insecurity through medically tailored nutrition initiatives.
Virginia

Virginia General Assembly
The Virginia House of Delegates and the Virginia Senate have adjourned for the 2024 session. They will return in January 2026.
Alexandria City Council
The Alexandria City Council is on recess this week. They will reconvene in July at a time to be announced.
Arlington County Board
The Arlington County Board will convene for a closed session meeting this Tuesday at 2 pm. Their next open session meeting will occur on July 19.
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will not be in session this week. They will next reconvene on July 15 at 9:30 am.
