As we approach the halfway point of 2021, here is a snapshot of where both the Prince George's County Council and the Montgomery County Council stand legislatively, as well as a snapshot of the main issue areas they are focusing on. Aside from introducing a number of economic and housing bills to address the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there have been a number of bills focusing on both police reform and housing in both counties. CLPA will dive deeper into a few of these bills in the coming weeks.

Note that resolutions have not been included in this analysis save for 6 of the budget-related resolutions in Montgomery County. We will have a separate analysis of county resolutions at a later time, as well as a report of the rate of activity of councilmembers from both counties.
