CLPA List of Upcoming DC Area Policy Meetings (September 12th -September 17th)

The summer recess is officially over, and all local legislative bodies across the DMV are returning are week. As such, there are a number of important policy updates and briefings occurring that residents will want to pay attention.

DC has legislation being introduced this week on voting registration, budgets, and workers' rights that we will be tracking and highlighting later on. Prince George's County has a data collection bill that will be of interest to researchers regarding county worker data and in the county school, they will discuss a recent report from the Maryland Office of the Inspector General for Education though it is unclear which report the County will discuss from the agenda. However, perhaps one of the more contentious meetings this week will be in the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, in which they will discuss two resolutions to rename highway named after confederate generals.
